LEADING CHEFS SUPPORT CHILEAN CAUSE
The world of gastronomy doesn't want to miss the chance to do its bit for the reconstruction of Chile following the earthquake last February which left hundreds dead. To this end, Ángel Palacios, executive chef at La Broche, is promoting a very special tribute all the profits of which will be earmarked for the reconstruction of a school on the Island of Robinson Crusoe Island located in the archipelago.
The Juan Fernández archipelago, is one of the most affected areas of the country which was also devastated as a result of a subsequent seaquake. It is his way of trying to help Chilean kids by giving them back the opportunity to receive a proper education after this natural disaster.But he is not alone. Because many members of his own profession -several of whom boast one or more Michelin stars- have seconded his initiative by offering their best culinary creations in the

This action of solidarity has been enthusiastically received by the Chilean embassy in Spain;The event will also play host to the Chilean chef Juan Morales, culinary director of the Balneario Termas Pallarés, who will prepare one of his country's typical dishes so that Chile can also make an appearance through its noteworthy cuisine in addition to the presence of representative personalities from Chilean culture.

An extensive list of great chefs will be present at the event: Paco Roncero (Terraza del Casino); Óscar Velasco (Santceloni); Mario Sandoval (Coque); David Muñoz (Diverxo); Montse Estruch (El Cingle); Martín Berasategui (Martín Berasategui); Jesús Almagro (Pedro Larumbe); Ramón Freixa (Ramón Freixa Madrid); Rodrigo De La Calle (De la Calle); Sacha Hormaechea (Sacha); Manolo de la Osa (Las Rejas); Joaquín Felipe (Europa Decó); Juanjo López (La Tasquita de Enfrente); José Luis Estevan (Lágrimas negras); Javier Oyarbide (Príncipe de Viana); César Martín (Trattoria D´G); Rubén Ortiz (Aynaelda); Juan Pozuelo, Ángel León (Aponiente) and, of course, Manuel Prats, Executive Chef from the Hotel Occidental Miguel Ángel.
They are jointly offering an invitation to visitors to support the cause while at the same time having the opportunity to enjoy an outstanding evening in which they will have the chance to taste, among other things, a cocktail made by all of them at a price of 80€ each. All those who won't have the chance to attend but who would like to support the cause, will have the chance to contribute by means of the ‘Mesa Cero'. There will be also an auction at which objects donated by chefs and other personalities will be on offer. For example, David Muñoz, recently awarded both his first Michelin star and the
Premio Nacional de Gastronomía (National Gastronomy Award) will be auctioning off a table to eat or dine at his restaurant. All the money raised will go to the reconstruction of the school.
Apart from this, the Hotel Occidental Miguel Ángel hotel and The Lab Room, a fitness centre located inside the hotel facilities, will be offering a prize draw for hotel stays and beauty and fitness treatment. This is a great chance to collaborate!
