As part of the first day at Reale Seguros Madrid Fusión, the Best New Pastry Chef 2020 has been crowned. The award has gone to Alfredo Machado Díaz from Barcelona.

During the afternoon today at Reale Seguros Madridfusión 2020, we have learned who are the two winners of the New Pastry Chef Competition which, launched by Sibari Food Service, aims to acknowledge and highlight the talent, creativity and work of the leading representatives of patisserie and dessert cooking in our country. In what is its third year, Alfredo Machado Díaz (Grupo El Barri, Barcelona) has been declared Best New Pastry Chef.

In this way Alfredo Machado Díaz has won an award that aims to provide patisserie and dessert cooking professionals with the well-deserved public and media recognition that up to now, in #REALEMF’s opinion, they have never enjoyed for the work that they carry out in their respective gastronomic disciplines.

A great many pastry chefs have submitted their recipes to compete in the two categories in this new competition. From among all of these, the organisers selected three finalists in each case, whose creations have been judged today by a jury presided over by Paco Torreblanca and made up of Javi Antoja, Ricardo Vélez, Sor Miriam and Pol Contreras, who won the award in the previous year. Sira Veiga (Sa Pedrera d’es Pujols, Menorca) and Marlene Hernández (100% Panadería y Pastelería, Tenerife) ended up behind Alfredo Machado Díaz..
