Beverage Manager at the Four Seasons Hotel Madrid

Considered one of today’s most important Spanish sommeliers, he is now back in Spain – after working for 20 years in London – to head the beverage department at the Four Seasons Hotel Madrid.

Except for a brief training stint at El Celler de Can Roca, Trapero’s entire career in the world of wine has unfolded in the UK. The position of Beverage Manager – at the first hotel of the luxury Four Seasons chain in our country – is also the first professional foray in Spain for this sommelier from Avila who, in addition to working at various hotels and high-end fine-dining restaurants in London over the past two decades, never stopped learning and taking advantage of the opportunities that the most important city in the world – from the point of view of wine knowledge – offered him.

After obtaining a Diploma from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET®), Agustín Trapero trained at the Wine Scholar Guild and at the Sake Sommelier Association, going on to obtain the Advanced Certificate from The Court of Master Sommeliers. He is now on the long road to obtaining the title of Master Sommelier – a demanding certification that no Spanish sommelier has yet achieved and one that Trapero has been working on for five years.
