Josep Maria Guerola and Ana Jarquín run together La Pastisseria, Barcelona.

Although she is from Guatemala, Ana Jarquín trained professionally at Barcelona's Hofmann School and Jordi Cruz's ABaC, where she was in charge of the pastry section for two years. In 2011 she won the Espai Sucre School's "The Best Restaurant Dessert" competition, which helped her to "continue to grow" and take over the pastry section at Raúl Balam's two-starred Moments. She was declared "Bakery Revelation Cakemaker" at Madrid Fusión in 2019. She and her partner, Josep Maria Guerola, now run La Pastisseria Barcelona, where she is in charge of R+D and management of shops and staff.

After completing his studies at Barcelona's Hoffmann School, Josep Maria Guerola embarked on a learning tour of major bakeries in Spain - with Oriol Balaguer, Foix de Sarrià, Pasteleria Totel and restaurants such as Miramar and Zuberoa. His passion for learning took him to Paris to work in the Ze Kitchen Galerie restaurant and at Pâtisserie Fauchon. Back in Barcelona, he completed his training at Pastisseria Dolç and won the exclusive  “Coupe Du Monde de la Pâtisserie” in 2011, in the first Spanish team to do so. Since 2012 he has worked on the La Pastisseria Barcelona project with his partner, Ana Jarquín.
