Chef at Kitchen Table** (London, United Kingdom)

Knappett's food is based on British ingredients and flavours, because the chef is proud to use the best local ingredients, often hand-picked.
James Knappett has worked at a number of leading restaurants around the world. He trained in Cambridgeshire, spent years in the kitchens of Pétrus by Gordon Ramsay, and then went to work at Rick Stein's The Seafood Restaurant, Thomas Keller's Per Se, and with René Redzepi in Noma.
Kitchen Table opened in 2012, earned a Michelin star in 2014, and the coveted second star in 2018, which it still has. Kitchen Table also won Michelin's 'Welcome and Service Award' in 2018.
Kitchen Table is a gastronomic experience where full interaction with the chefs stages a kitchen theatre production the like of which has never been seen. Customers sit at a horseshoe-shaped counter watching James Knappett and his crew making the food, which they then serve up as they chat to diners about the evening's sampling menu. The experience is rounded off with a wine list crafted by prizewinning sommelier (and James' wife) Sandia Chang.
