Born in the French island territory of Réunion, Kristell Monot has a degree in Hispanic Philology, and arrived in Spain in 2004 to begin her International Trade studies in Valladolid.
Her journey into the world of wine began 16 years ago. She spent a decade travelling the world as Export Manager for three Ribera del Duero wineries, and finally joined the Abadía Retuerta team. Six years ago her passion for the world of wine shifted her focus to move into the Marco de Jerez sommelier segment, working as dining room manager and sommelier at the Mantúa* restaurant. The same constant eagerness to explore, learn and discover new things led her to Mugaritz in April 2022. In 2023 she began work as sommelier at this leading eatery in Errenteria, taking up a vocation to ramble through the world of harmonies with a restless, inquisitive spirit.
