Pilar Cavero

With a degree in Education from the University of Salamanca, Pilar Cavero discovered her passion for wine in Barcelona, where she worked as a sommelier at the famous El Celler de Can Roca, alongside Josep Roca himself. After completing her Master Sommelier in the United States, she returned to Spain to work at Lavinia.

Named Spain's best sommelier in 2013 and nominated for the National Gastronomy Award the same year, Cavero is currently a member of the Decanter Wine World Awards jury and the IWC Industry Awards Spain, a member of the Madrid Fusion Wine Edition board and the Madrid Academy of Gastronomy, and a wine critic for ABC newspaper, where she writes the guide to Spain's best wines.
