Jonatan García LimaJonatan García Lima (Tenerife, 1978) is the oenologist and visible face of Suertes del Marqués, a family winery in Tenerife's Orotava Valley that has revolutionised the Canary Islands wine scene since 2006. Trained as a publicist, García Lima entered the world of wine with the vision of producing what his family wanted to consume, a decision that time has proven to be correct.
Under his leadership, Suertes del Marqués has received numerous awards from international critics and is ranked among the top 100 wineries in the world by the prestigious Wine & Spirits magazine. Jonatan García Lima has been instrumental in restoring and enhancing the Canary Islands' vineyards, using traditional techniques such as braided cordon and a Burgundian-inspired bottling hierarchy.
His focus on quality and terroir expression has catapulted Suertes del Marqués wines into the global market, exporting 90% of its production to 35 countries and appearing in more than 150 Michelin-starred restaurants worldwide.
