Richard began his career as a chef, working in the kitchens of London's finest restaurants, but it was in San Francisco that he fell in love with sourdough bread and has dedicated his life to baking ever since.
He learned his trade at Della Fattoria and later at Tartine, where he was head baker for 7 years before opening his own bakery in Denmark. In partnership with René Redzepi, he founded Hart Bageri in Copenhagen in 2018, considered one of the best bakeries in the world.
He is about to announce a collaboration with London's Claridges Hotel in Mayfair. Richard Hart at Claridges will be an in-house bakery for the hotel and the public. Richard has designed the bakery, created the recipes and trained all the staff, but will not be responsible for day-to-day operations.
He has a deep love of Mexican cuisine and its vibrant culinary scene. He moved to Mexico City in 2022 to work on his next Green Rhino project.
