One of the first images that Oriol Balaguer has kept in his mind since he was six years old is that of his father creating artistic chocolates.
Oriol Balaguer studied pastry, learned and worked with Ferran Adrià at elBulli for seven years, travelled the world and opened the first chocolate and pastry workshop specialising in sweet haute cuisine in Barcelona in 2002.
Oriol Balaguer defines himself as an entrepreneurial pastry chef. But always first and foremost a pastry chef. Within his walls, he develops his sensitivity and his creative side to create collections of desserts every year, with which he manages to delight and surprise in his shops in Barcelona, Madrid and Girona.
In 1993, at the age of 21, Balaguer was named the best pastry chef in Spain and in 1997 the best pastry chef in Spain. He was also named Best Pastry Chef in Catalonia in 2003, Professional of the Year in 2006 and Best Pastry Chef in Spain in 2008.
