This coming January 29th, Reale Seguros Madrid Fusión 2019 will hold the final of the competition to search for a bread that best enhances the nuances of Ibérico ham.

Carrasco Ibéricos will once again be present at Reale Seguros Madrid Fusión. Within the activities of the congresses, the company has launched a competition whose aim is to find the perfect bread with which to enjoy its ham. Its premise ‘those who know ham choose Carrasco’, aims to take the experience of savouring its product one step further. And so, The Carrasco Bread Challenge was born. A competition whose goal is to find a bread that is not only on a par with its ham, but one that also enhances all of its characteristics and nuances to turn the combination into a veritable pleasure.

The shortlisted finalists are: Xevi Ramón from the bakery Triticum in Barcelona, Antonio Ramos from the Obrador de San Francisco bakery in Madrid, Guillermo Moscoso from Pan da Moa in Santiago de Compostela, Paco Roig who heads his eponymous bakery in Valencia, Xabier de la Maza owner of The Loaf in San Sebastián, and Daniel Ramos at helm of La Cremita bakery in Chiclana de la Frontera, Cádiz.

Each contestant must present an original bread recipe that enhances the flavour and nuances of Carrasco Ibérico ham, and defend their recipe before a judging panel at Reale Seguros Madrid Fusión. A never-before-seen challenge!

In the same way that wine has become more understood over these past years, Carrasco Ibéricos seeks, via this initiative, to awaken interest in the culture of ham, achieving – via an understanding of it – even more enjoyment of the world of Ibérico ham. Carrasco aims to show what it can be served with, which aspects differentiate one ham from another, how to make a good ham, and what nuances to look out for.

Until the final of the competition, to be held on the multi-purpose stage at Reale Seguros Madrid Fusión on the January 29th, we will not know who the winner is, but you can discover more about this original culinary challenge and the finalists on the brand’s social networks.
